About

Built by people who answer their own phones.

The story of how a marketing agency ended up building an AI receptionist.

Restaurant before opening
Where it started

We were hired to get businesses found.

We're AIO Clicks, a digital marketing agency working with restaurants, salons, and tradespeople across the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany — helping them show up on Google, and increasingly on the AI platforms people now ask questions to instead of searching. That was the job: get the phone to ring more.

Listening
What we kept hearing

The phone was already ringing. Nobody was answering it.

Owner after owner told us the same thing, almost word for word: the traffic we were sending them wasn't the problem. The problem was a phone that rang during service, before opening, mid-haircut, mid-job — and just kept ringing. Every one of those calls was a customer who'd already decided to buy. They just went to the next name on the list instead.

Thinking it through
What we didn't want to build

Not another AI that guesses.

We'd seen enough half-built AI tools to know what we didn't want: something that invents an answer when it doesn't know one, books a table that's already taken, or gets a price wrong. So the one rule we set from day one was simple — if it doesn't know, it says so. Everything else got built around that.

Taking action
What we built

Bubo — an AI phone assistant that actually picks up.

Built first for restaurants, because that's who we knew best. It answers, books the table, takes the order, and texts a summary — in whichever language the caller needs. No invented answers, no double-bookings, no guessed prices. Just a phone that gets answered, every time.

Where it's answering today

What started with restaurants now covers a handful of industries — with more on the way.
